Background: The effect of different physical activity with consumption supplements on the function of body vital systems and decrease free radicals effects is not well known during exercise. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of aerobics exercise (HRmax: 60-65%) with vitamin E on antioxidant status and oxidative stress and cardiovascular risk factors in active male students.
Materials and Methods: 45 normal active male students were randomly divided in to three groups: Exp 1(N=15, mean±SD age=23.8±1.6) Exp 2(N=15, mean±SD age=22.4±2.3) and control III (N=15, mean±SD age=22.9±1.8). The treatment for exercise-supplement included moderate aerobic exercise (HRmax 60-65%) with consumption a 500 mg vitamin E tablet. The treatment for exercise-placebo included exercise above along with a placebo tablet consumed for 8 weeks, 3 sessions per week and session lasted 45 minutes. The variables in the experiment were measured in two stages in the standardized environment of a laboratory. This research performed the Islamic Azad university branch of Tabriz. Results: The results showed that, there was a significant statistical difference between MAD (p<0.02), CP (p<0.04), TAC (p<0.03), LDL (p<0.03) and Vo2max (p<0.03) in the three groups. Discussion: In summery performing moderate aerobic exercise (HRmax 60-65%) with consumption Vitamin E may decrease membrane damage and lipid peroxidation, and cardiovascular risk factors.
